 We took the Gondola which is just at Voss train station up to the mountain Hangurstoppen 818 meters. Here is a restaurant and skiing area in winter time and hiking area in summer time.  The Gondola takes about 10 minutes to reach the top and is both very stable and spacious. 

 We drove on the E16 to Vinje and then took road 13 over Myrkdal passing beautiful surrondings, small lakes until we reach Vikafjell.  Reaching Hopperstad, we stopped by Hove Stavekyrkje and Hove Steinkyrkje.  In Vik we looked at the harbour and landing point for the Cruiseships. We drove on to Vangsnes and back to Voss.

 Sightseeing in Voss, Norway On my first free day in Voss, monday 21st April, I walked around in Voss and my first excursion was to the Bordals Gorge , where you can see the  waterfall and read about the formation about the gorge, with great views over Voss area.  Berglien house, where the Berglien family resided and statues over the famous sons, artists.  Bergslitræet in Voss is a small museum dedicated to the artist brothers Knud and Brynjulf Bergslien, who were born and raised there.  Knud was a painter best known for Birkebeinerne , showing skiers rescuing Prince Haakon in 1206—a famous image in Norway’s history. Brynjulf was a sculptor, most known for the bronze statue of King Karl Johan in front of Oslo’s royal palace, unveiled in 1875.  Both brothers played key roles in Norway’s national romantic art.
